Introduction
------------

The DivX Player is the official player application for DivX(R) video content.
The DivX(R) codec (compressor-decompressor) is an extremely high quality,
MPEG-4 based video codec that is widely known as the "MP3 of video."

You may use the DivX Player to play content encoded in versions 3.11 alpha
and later of the DivX codec. The application will also play other video and
audio content stored in AVI files, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Windows Media Video,
  and DivX(R) VOD video content.
